My Love Story with Archaeology
In honor of International Archaeology Day
Thank you for sharing your passion for the past with us!
In honor of International Archaeology Day, CoDA, in collaboration with Dominican University of California – Big History Program and Far Horizons Archaeological and Cultural Trips, Inc., organized an international digital contest in which we were inviting all of you to share a photo, story, selfie or video of a moment or piece of heritage with a particular meaning for you.
Well, we felt the love! Thank you to all those that have participated.
How did we determine the winners? We selected the most interesting or fun submissions and circulated them on our social channels. Impressions and engagement on twitter and FB made the final cut. We are already in touch with the winners who will redeem their prizes at their convenience.
And the winners are…
1st Prize: Louisa Daggers
Louisa, a student at the University of Guyana, shared a photo of her at the Aishalton Petroglyph Complex of Guyana. Louisa wins a free one-day immersive course on Digital Photography with CoDA staff. Congratulations Louisa and thanks for sharing!!
2nd Prize: Dan May
J. Daniel May is Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Dominican University’s School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Director of the Big History Program. Dan shared with us this fun candle-lit pose before a model of Lascaux cave, shot in France last Summer. Dan wins 10% off a Far Horizon’s trip. Thanks Dan for participating!
3rd Prize: Sydney Johnson
Sydney is a student of Anthropology at UC Berkeley. This photo was shot at the Château de Foix, in the Pyrénées, during Sydney’s first trip to France. That trip sparkled her passion for Paleolithic Art and archaeology in general! Sydney wins a half-day workshop on Digital Story Telling for Archaeology with CoDA staff. Way to go girl!
It was fun! Thank you all again!
Team CoDA 🙂
