Da Capo al CoDA, literally, from the head to the tail. In sheet music, it directs the musician to start at the beginning (“Capo”) and once you reach the first coda symbol, skip to the second and then play to the end. This second part is the “coda”, the tail, and is as good a place as any to start our new blog.
We want our blog to be something worth paying attention to and, like a “coda,” worth waiting for. We’re planning to deliver news, reviews, tips, and tricks that focus on supporting “individuals and organizations in charge of the creation, management, and publishing of cultural content,” our mission here at the Center for Digital Archaeology.
Each week, we will be scouring the interwebs for the latest trends in digital archaeology, preservation, curation, photography, documentation and data management. We’ll offer up our opinions and won’t shy away from challenging the status quo when it comes to helping you care for your digital memories. This is our commitment to developing a paperless newsdesk on digital practices for archaeological and cultural content.
Here’s to an exciting year together! Let’s start at the beginning. Again.
